In a country which is a parliamentary republic, the role of the President is very important. For that reason, a candidate must meet certain criteria to be qualified for the position of the President. These requirements are defined in the Constitution of the country.
For instance, in the Republic of Armenia, the same person may be elected President only once, and the President is not allowed to do any other paid work. The Constitution also defines other requirements for the President.
